Need to start practicing with realism again. Portrait I'm working on of my husband.

This is very good. Better than what I could do. if you really want to make this hyper realistic then it's all about the shading and light sourcing. That alone could go on and on forever.

I'd like to give you some little advices for realism (if it's not a problem, of course!)
Try to "understand" volumes and shapes, going beyond what you see, like what sculptors do, but using lines and chiaroscuro; this works obviously also, in this case, for the beard, and hair. Lights and shadows are fundamental too for give volumes to what you draw, pay really attention to them, and it's better if you start with structuring the drawing, with guide lines and simple shapes, taking care of bones and muscles (you can find them clearly explained in a lot of anatomical studies :) )

I hope that it will help you, but if it bothers you tell me and I'll leave my comment :)

Good work, however :) don't stop!

No, it doesn't bother me at all. I love it when people critique my work and give me advice. It's what helps me get better as an artist. :3

I worked on it a bit, there's a Part II and I'm about to upload a Part III, so if you would like to look at those and tell me what you think, I would appreciate it. <3
